PW School Policy for Live Courses

Attendance Policy:

Students must be in the classroom the entire length of the class to obtain credit hours. Students must sign in each day of class for proof of attendance. Credit hours will not be awarded any student who is absent a total of more than 10 minutes for every three (3) clock hours of class. Students will be given an opportunity to attend the next offering of the class to make up any missed time in order to obtain credit hours.

Student Documentation:

Class Roster/Sign In sheets must contain the following information: student’s full name, mailing address, phone number, email address and signature.

Exam:

Some courses require an exam, in those cases the student must score a minimum of 75% correct.

Certificate of Completion:

A PDF version of the certificate of completion will be provided to each student. The certificate will display the student’s name, course name, course completion date, course approval number and signature of the school administrator. Replacement certificates may be obtained for a $7 fee (prices subject to change).

Course Evaluation:

Students are asked to complete a course evaluation. Some states require evaluations be submitted to the agency and in those circumstances, evaluation forms will be compulsory.

Refund Policy:

Deposits are fully refundable when requested seven (7) or more days in advance of the class. Fifty percent (50%) is refundable four (4) days to six (6) days prior. Cancellations made within three (3) days of the class are non-refundable. However, partially- or non-refundable deposits may be applied to the next available class offering within a 12-month period provided space is available.

Course Cancellation:

If the course must be canceled by the instructor or school full refunds will be made on all deposits. If a course is rescheduled deposits will be retained and applied to the next scheduled class unless the student is not available to attend, at which time a full refund will be issued. Class schedules will be subject to local school district closures due to weather. (i.e. if local schools are delayed 2 hours, so will the class; if school are closed then the class will be postponed).

Record Retention:

PorterWorks will keep student sign-in sheets for a period of at least seven (7) years from the date of the class. Records will be held at 19126 Soundview Drive NW, Stanwood, WA 98292 and are available to any licensing authority for review with notice.

Audit Policy:

Any state licensing representative will be provided a space to audit any course at no cost to the individual. No credit hours will be awarded to a student who audits the course.

Special Accommodations:

Every effort will be made to accommodate special needs students. Students are encouraged to contact the school prior to the class to help facilitate accommodating these needs. It is the intent of PorterWorks to provide classes in accessible locations.

Scholarships:

Certain scholarships may be available based on need. Inquiries should be made to the school administrator.

Reliance on Information:

Course materials are provided for general information info and should not be relied upon in specific business transactions. Student should seek outside council and confirm information prior to applying concepts provided in the course. Should a claim against PorterWorks be sought, then all parties agree to pursue arbitration before litigation. No claim shall exceed the amount student paid for the specific workshop or consultation. The student agrees to holds harmless PorterWorks, its instructors and administrators.

Contract Instructors:

PorterWorks at times uses WA-state certified contract instructors. These instructors are assigned to teach courses that are approved by various approving governmental agencies. They are required to teach the curriculum as approved. All other conditions of this school policy apply to their teaching on behalf of PorterWorks as well.
